Since the fires and now subsequent heavy rain causing landslides, a few of us have been trekking around scouting the damage on the existing tracks we ride and unfortunately most are completely impassable……
Now more than ever the town and businesses need support and many have talked to us about how MTB trail development can help fill the gap especially with the current summer losses and the tragic loss of Selwyn ski resort.
You can support by spreading the word on how amazing the trails could be up here, keep visiting the area and if possible you could support the Talbingo MTB club by becoming a member. The funds raised by becoming a member will go towards our MTB Trail Master Plan documentation which will help us gain the funding required to develop a series of world class trails which will fill the current gaps experienced by the fires.
The membership form has all of the required instructions but if there are any questions please let us know. We can’t offer much at this stage, but if you do join, you can go to Talbingo’s Go Play Outside shop or the Talbingo Country Club and ask for a Talbingo MTB sticker (they also have the membership forms if required). Members will also be shared the master plan once it is finalised and approved.
Thanks for your support!
We not only made the headlines on the front cover but we also got a huge 6 page spread about our plans for mountain biking in TALBINGO. Check out the latest edition of Mountain Biking Australia magazine out now in newsagents or online for a digital version.
Just before christmas our team along side some wonderful trail building professionals with the permission of Parks and Wildlife went out for a hike to trail scout our region!
Despite our rough start to 2020, very exciting things are going to begin in Talbingo in 2020!
As we scout the region for damage from the fires and look for where to build our dream trails we have been reminded what a beautiful place we are privileged to live in - and can't wait for you to come see it!

Dollars for dirt is an initiative run monthly by mtb direct Australia since ‘16, aimed at supporting australian mtb clubs that could use a few extra $$$ !
A massive thanks to all who voted for our club. all the money is going to be well spent in developing our vision of a world class network of mtb trails that will help our beautiful region recover from the 2019-2020 bushfires that ravaged the area.
The support from you all, as always, leaves us breathless.
Cheers from us
